Corrections

Everything we have published that turned out to be wrong, dated, with what changed. Seven entries have been audited so far and all seven needed a correction. None of them has been quietly edited away.

Why this page exists

This site publishes revenue figures about named people. A publication that does that is only worth what its corrections are worth, so every correction we make is listed here, dated, with what was wrong and what changed. The entries themselves also carry a note where the change was material.

Most of the corrections below came from auditing our own work rather than from anyone complaining. Six entries were checked in a single pass and all six needed something fixed, which tells you the base rate is not zero and the audit continues. If you find an error, the contact form goes straight to the desk and corrections get priority over everything else.

4 Sep 2026 · Kim Hatch

Published under the wrong name

The entry ran as "Kim Turner." The UpFlip episode that is the source of every figure in it names the operator as Kim Hatch, while separate press coverage of Turner Septic names Kim Turner as founder. Renamed the entry to match our source, added the location and founding year, and published a note on the page stating the discrepancy rather than resolving it silently. The old URL redirects.

4 Sep 2026 · Michael Haskell

Unverifiable citation, and revenue described as earnings

The entry cited a bare CNBC homepage link, which is not a citation. Replaced it with the specific article, the CNBC video, and IBTimes UK. Corrected the name to Michael Haskell, added the location and start year, and separated revenue ($135,000) from operating earnings (about $82,000), which the original conflated.

A co-founder was missing

The entry credited Nick Huber alone. Storage Squad and Bolt Storage were both co-founded with Dan Hagberg, who now appears throughout. Also named the buyer (1-800-PACK-RAT), replaced two homepage citations with real sources, presented the sale price as the $1.65M to $1.7M range the sources actually give rather than picking one, and updated a portfolio figure that was two years stale.

4 Sep 2026 · Ian Hecht

A figure we could not verify

The entry carried a year-two profit figure of roughly $280,000. Tracing it back, it came only from an AI-generated summary of a podcast episode, not from anything Hecht or the hosts said in a source we could check. Removed it and published a note explaining why. The revenue, ad spend, and per-lead economics, all owner-stated, remain.

4 Sep 2026 · Kyle Landwehr

An inflated claim about wealth

The entry said Landwehr "crossed millionaire status at 22." The sources say his company passed $1 million in sales across its first two years, which is a different claim entirely. Corrected, and added notes that he sells a course teaching this business and that the coverage does not distinguish revenue from take-home.

4 Sep 2026 · Joel & Hunter Davis

A franchise described as an independent business

The entry described an independent "pool service route" and never named the company. It is an America's Swimming Pool Company franchise, opened June 2019. Corrected throughout, with a new section comparing what a franchisee buys against what the independents in this database built, because $851,000 under a national brand is not the same achievement as $851,000 built from a phone book.

4 Sep 2026 · Ryan McCoy

Missing context that changed the meaning

The entry read as a restaurant operator buying a franchise and doing $900,000 in year one. He had in fact managed that same Dallas market as a Scoop Soldiers corporate employee for two years before buying it, which makes the result far less transferable than it looked. Added, along with his later expansion to roughly 30 trucks across three markets.
